The Rambler

It all started as a tribute.

When I was in college, I spent a year as copyeditor for our campus paper, the Circuit. Interested in the history of our school's paper, I spent some time looking through archived copies of the paper. Back in the early 20th century, my alma mater's student paper was called the Rambler, before it was changed to the Circuit sometime in the 70's. As it turns out, my paternal grandfather was the general editor for the Rambler for a year in the fifties. And so out of fond memories of grandpa, and as a tribute to my college's past, I named my editorial column the Rambler.

I kept the name for a blog because it seemed appropriate to my more incoherent, loose writing style. I'm not saying this will be a stream of consciousness, completely senseless, unstructured run of information. This will more than likely just be a run of reviews and short life updates. If I start attracting followers, then I'll start putting more of myself into posts. Like updates on my writing career, random ideas I have, things like that.

To start out with a slightly more personal post, I'm a mixed bag of careers right now. I'm trying to slide into a more cohesive career beyond my freelance work, and so far I have mixed results. Maybe I should just focus on being a professional bartender. Probably not a great idea, but you'll never know. Meanwhile, I'm writing. Being a novelist is the one ambition I have that seems achievable, so we'll see how that goes.

Anyways, thanks for stopping by! Cheers!
